Arasmith Memorial Day Weekend
A video I made to show to the world the ultimate wronging of team Barnezy in the Memorial Day competition. The day started out like any other Memorial Day but soon turned into a very competitive contest between four couples. The final game was home run derby and everything came down to the final pitch. Watch the video and tell me what you think.
Guitar Hero 3 – END GAME
My first experience with a green screen. 2008 was a huge year for Guitar Hero 3 and I might have gotten a little carried away with the whole thing. We shot this video in one evening and it took me several weeks to complete the finished product. It’s way over the top, but that’s how we like it. It lasted about a week before youtube pulled it because of it’s extreme awesomeness!
2009 Deer Harvest (GRAPHIC)
This is a short clip of my 2009 whitetail deer harvest. I shot him on the run from 200+ yards while I was standing in the field. My dad, grandfather and I had been hunting the previous week with no luck. I had passed up a really nice buck hoping my grandfather would see him. I began to get a little desperate on this last night so I saw a good-sized deer and I took him. He field dressed around 180-200 lbs so Ali and I will be eating good for a while!
Bellagio Fountains
A short clip of the famed Bellagio fountains in the summer of 2009. I set up my Canon 5D Mark II and a 15mm Fisheye in hopes of capturing almost the entire fountain. However, it’s extremely wide and I was only able to capture about 90% of it. It began raining within a minute of starting the video so I only got a small portion of a song. It was my first time in Vegas and the fountains were BY FAR my favorite thing!
Kansas City Night to Day
In the winter of 2008, three friends and I got up and drove to downtown Kansas City in an attempt to get a time-lapse video of the Kansas City skyline. We sure picked a crazy morning to do it. There were -20 degree wind chills and my friend’s cameras soon froze. 2 Nikons froze, and our three Canon’s kept kicking the whole time. I guess the weather sealing on Canon’s is pretty legit! We froze our rears off for two hours, but the 10 seconds of footage I got was well worth it!
Study Time
This is a time-lapsed video of Alan and I studying for a final at Cleveland Chiropractic College final. This was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II with a fisheye lens. Look for all of the random items moving and you’ll find it takes several views to see them all. This is truly a unique video idea and I think it’ll be fun to watch for years to come. And well incase you’re curious, we both actually passed the final. Maybe we’re onto something with this new study method.
Corvette Z06 Test Drive
Chevrolet makes certain claims about it’s car’s performance. I wanted to put those claims to the test. So as I was driving a new Z06 corvette back to my dad’s dealership, I strapped my Canon 5D Mark II and fisheye lens behind the two seats and set out to prove or disprove Chevy’s performance claims.
The Quick Way Home
Have you ever picked up something at the store and couldn’t wait to get home to play with it? I had just picked up “The Dark Knight” on Blu-Ray the day it was released and couldn’t wait to get home. My solution was to created a time-lapsed video of my trip home so the trip would at least seem shorter. Did it work? No it didn’t! But it made an interesting video. Watch as I use a variety of hand signals to wave at people who don’t know how to drive in the snow.
St. Patrick’s Day Traffic
Since I’m not Irish and well, don’t drink, St. Patrick’s Day is kind of just another day for me. In 2009, it was a beautiful night to take photos, so I set up on highway 435 in Overland Park to see the rush of people heading back from the bars. At around 11 pm the traffic picked up exponentially. This is a time-lapsed video showing all of the people coming home from a successful session at the local tavern.
The Thunder Rolls
We had several storms here in Kansas City in the spring of 2009. One was rolling in around 3 am one night and I didn’t want to wait up, but I wanted to get some photos. I set my camera up for a time-lapsed video and was a bit disappointed when the batteries died just as the storm rolled in. It’s still a neat video as you can literally see the cell come rolling in. The lighting was intense, but the camera stayed safely on the back porch during the whole thing.
