I met my wife in 2005 while working as a counselor at an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) summer camp. We had both been involved with FCA for many years but had never actually met. The summer prior to this one, I was her younger brother’s counselor at a different FCA Camp. At one point in the camp he showed me a photo of his sister and I remember thinking what a beautiful girl she was. Unfortunately, she had a long-time boyfriend so I immediately put that thought out of my head. One year later I was working an FCA camp in Oklahoma City. This was a camp that I had never been able to work because it occurred the same week as the similar camp I worked in Tulsa. During that week I met a very energetic woman who was involved in the training of the counselors. During our time together she asked me if I was single. This was one of the only times in my adult life that I was single, so for the first time in a long time I was able to answer the question with a “yes.” She told me that I needed to meet her daughter.
One month later as I worked my final camp of the summer, I ran into Ali Griffin while we were bringing our suitcases into the dorm we were staying in. The next day we engaged in a variety of team-building exercises and I took it upon myself to make sure we were in the same group so I could find out a little more about this beautiful young woman. To make a long story short, we hit it off that week and within two weeks from camp’s end I told her that I would marry her someday. When you’ve been in as many serious relationships as I had, it was instantly apparent that she was without a doubt “The One.” One year from the week that we met, I proposed to her at the same camp we met. With the help of the camp staff, we were able to orchestrate one of the most memorable proposals of all time. Hundreds of teenage kids and young adults screamed as I hit a knee on stage to give Ali the surprise of her life. We were married five months later in her hometown of Guthrie, Oklahoma. It’s been an amazing journey since the first day we met and I find myself becoming more impressed and more intrigued by her every day. I have been a student for nearly our entire marriage which has been difficult for me. My wife has worked so hard to support us these past three years. I cannot wait until the day that I graduate chiropractic school so that I can work towards giving Ali the long refreshing break that she deserves. I simply could not have asked for a better wife, companion, and friend.

4th Year Anniversary Video
This is a short video highlighting our fourth year of Holy matrimony. The Barnezy’s endured five surgeries amongst other things. Besides winning contests, shooting weddings and trying to graduate, we found a little time to have some fun too!
3rd Year Anniversary Video
This is a short video highlighting our third year of Holy matrimony. Things get a little crazy during this year. I got a little carried away with the whole photography thing, Ali got a little carried away with the coaching thing. There are some great adventures as well as some shocking footage in this year’s video.
2nd Year Anniversary Video
This is a short video highlighting our second year of Holy matrimony. Things are in full swing in chiropractic school and Ali has become quite the teaching machine. I began shooting weddings this year as well as my first television commercials. Ali traveled to Colorado and Wyoming to conquer the mountains. I also got a little carried away with some cups. You’ll have to watch to see what I’m talking about!
1st Year Anniversary
This is a short video highlighting our first year of Holy matrimony. Everything from the honeymoon to our move to Kansas City. This year marked several adventures for the Barnezys. We had an incredible adventure hiking Longs Peak and another one with moving away from the only state we have ever known. Garth came out of retirement, well sort of, and I began my career as a chiropractor.
Our Wedding Video
This is a video of our wedding day from December 16th, 2006. Wallace productions in Tulsa shot and edited the footage. We invite you to share in our special day and you’ll see on of the most unique wedding ceremonies in recent years.
Couples’ Video for Our Wedding
This is a video that I made for my wife and I for our wedding ceremony. I have fallen asleep at more than a dozen videos during weddings and I felt like they took away from the service. I wanted to make something that would not only be entertaining to the people at our wedding, but would also add to the ceremony instead of taking away from it.
The Proposal
Our now famous proposal video which shows the setup and execution of one of the most creative engagement proposals of all time. Our video is the most popular proposal video and has been shown in TV commercials all over the country. It’s not the shortest video, but well worth it in the end.
