We found a HOUSE!

For those of you who know us, we’re not referencing Dr. Gregory House, but an actual house.  I have been searching for a house since about late January and this past weekend we entered into a contract with a homeowner.  Over the past few months I Ali and I have placed offers on three total houses.  I have been through at least 25 houses, driven by a few hundred, and looked at over 500 on the internet through sites like zillow.com.  Our real-estate agent Allison Sheffield has been an absolute joy to work with.  She has worked tirelessly to help find us our first house.  The first home we made an offer on was a Fannie Mae foreclosed property that was in the same neighborhood as my parents.  It would have been a great home, but we were outbid by another buyer.  The second home was a little more expensive and was actually being sold by Mathis Bros in Tulsa as they had relocated this family to the Oklahoma City area.  The third and final house was smaller than the other two, but will make a great home for us for several years.  It’s in a quiet neighborhood in Broken Arrow, OK.  The house backs up to the woods and has an open floor plan like we’ve wanted.  The sale hung in the balance over the owner’s refrigerator.  I wanted the washer/dryer, workbench, and the refrigerator.  We have lived in an apartment for the last four years so we do not own any appliances and this would be a huge incentive for us.  The owners were kind enough to leave their fridge behind and we came to a deal.  Hopefully everything will work out just great and we will close on the house in mid May.  Ali was so excited that she even got a little emotional as we stood in what could be our new living room.  She has worked so hard these past four years so that I could chase this dream of becoming a chiropractor.  Finding her a house that she would love was the least that I could do for all she’s done for us!  Keep your fingers crossed that everything works out!  I’m currently waiting on my license while getting all of my ducks in a row.  I should be opening my doors between May 1st and May 15th.  I would settle for June 1st, but May would be better.  I’m ready to get to work!  My parents packed up their home today and it was sad to see my mother cry as I left their home one last time.  I hope that my mother comes to love her new home in Lawton.  On a different, I had to do something I never imagined doing again…  I bought a PC.  I actually bought several for our new office software.  I’ll post on my new HP touchscreen soon and hopefully it will be a positive review.  -Barnezy-
