Bobby and Stephanie’s Wedding

Two weekends ago I had a first in my photography career.  I shot a race and a wedding in one day.  I spent 5 hours out of the morning covering the Route 66 Quarter Marathon in Tulsa and then I hopped in my truck and drove to Muskogee, OK a few hours later to cover a wedding.  I brought my good friend Jared Glover along for the shoot and he contributed some very nice photos!  I had never met Bobby or Stephanie but they were a blast to hang out with and I think that’s evident in the photos I captured.  I shot a previous wedding at the exact same church and reception hall so I knew what I was up against.  There is horrific tungsten and yellow light in the reception hall so I brought along the CTO gels to try and neutralize some of the tungsten lighting.  Overall, most of the shots look pretty good.  We were very behind on portraits so we didn’t get much time to set up lights poses etc, but the wedding party worked great under the pressure.  I got about five minutes to try and pose a photo  at the end of the night.  I didn’t have most of my lighting gear with me but I was able to use a Canon 580EXII with a grid to create some interesting photos from the roof of the Muskogee Civic Center.  The entire set of prints from the wedding is available HERE.  I would like to thank the bride and groom for their hospitality and I wish them the best of luck with their new lives!  On another note, I’m in the middle of finals so things are starting to get a little crazy.  I can’t believe this is my last real trimester of finals!  Also, Ali and I shot a tutorial video for a local inventor this past weekend so I should be posting that within the next week or so.  And finally, Kansas City is heading for a cool front this week.  Get out and enjoy the weather!  -Barnezy-
