Today Ali and I got to do something that few people (besides PGA golfers) get to do… We got a BIG Check. The actual amount of the check was large, but we’re talking about a literal large check! We picked up our check at our loval Martin Flyer dealer; Mazzarese Fine Jewelers in Overland Park, KS. The owner, Mark Mazzarese, was absolutely great and very hospitable to my wife and I. A few months ago, we won an engagement video contest sponsored by Martin Flyer and TheEngagementClub.com. The prize was $2500 towards a honeymoon / second honeymoon etc. Today we picked up the check and are now well on our way to picking out a place to stay. We have chosen the Island of Kaua’i in Hawaii as I’ve heard amazing things about it! I have been to Waikiki Beach in Oahu with the University of Tulsa for a football game in 2004 but it was very commercialized and we were only there a few days. We will get to spend an entire week in authentic Hawaii hiking, lounging, snorkeling, kayaking, etc… Our honeymoon was so rushed and we have never really got to go on a vacation alone so this is long overdue! We couldn’t have done it without the generosity of Josh Kaufman of Martin Flyer and The Engagement Club. We will be sure to take tons of pictures of our spring honeymoon! Now back to the BIG CHECK… The only problem with having a big check…. is finding a place to deposit it. Also, if you never saw our engagement video, I’m posting it below.
