50th Anniversary Rolex Submariner – AKA: “The Kermit”

In 1954 Rolex, the world’s most recognized watch brand, released the Submariner diver’s watch.  The watch was popularized by the James Bond movies of the era which created an iconic status for this watch.  Fast forward more than 50 years later and the Submariner is one of the most timeless designed timepieces as well as…

Ali - Cute. It looks like the watch is smiling. :) I’m glad you’re entertaining yourself while you’re cooped up. :)

Pete - The 50th anniversary submariner models that I have seen don’t have “ROLEX” engraved in the inner part of the dial.

So I was wondering if this is a newer version?

The Grand Architect of this Website - I believe it was new on the 2009 models. The serial # is also engraved on the lower half of the dial to help distinguish it from the fakes. I talked to a Rolex dealer one time and he actually said that Rolex does not put serial #’s on all of the Subs, I thought that was interesting!

JULIO - Actually all the ‘new’ ( sports )Rolex watches have the serial in the ‘rehaut’ or bottom of the ring chapter … this number matches the serial number ‘between’ the lugs … and the ‘credit card’ warranty card that comes from Rolex nowdays… To even make it harder for ‘pirates out there’ Rolex is now issuing ‘random’ serial numbers… but the same goes… the number on the ‘rehaut’ will match the number between the lugs.

Orthognathic Jaw Surgery – Update

Here are some before and after photos from my jaw surgery.  Although the surgery is to correct poor jaw dysfunction, it comes with some significant cosmetic changes.  It’s pretty apparent that they chopped out a significant amount of bone for my face to look this way.  Apparently they took out like 2mm off of one…

The Grand Architect of this Website - You should do great! I have never regretted having it done!

Leon - Hi!

I really really really want to have this surgery done since I’ve been bothered with my asymmetrical face for the past 30 years. But i’m scared shitless cuz it seems like a huge surgery and the healing process looks like it’s gonna be even more painful and long. Not to mention expensive.

Was it super expensive?

You look great. Congrats.

The Grand Architect of this Website - Insurance covered the majority of the costs for the surgery. I did not have it done for cosmetic reasons but it did change the way I looked. I was having a lot of pain and dysfunction which is why I elected to have it. There was little pain following the surgery, just awkwardness from the swelling and being wired shut for nearly 2 months. I would do it again in a heartbeat! I have felt a LOT better since!
