When a student becomes an intern in the student clinic at Cleveland Chiropractic College, the college has a business card luncheon to commemorate the benchmark in our education. This represents the beginning of our clinical experience and our beginnings as doctors of Chiropractic. We will spend the next trimester diagnosing and treating students at our school, while also learning to do a complete physical. Next trimester we will enter the outpatient clinic where we will be able to treat members of the general public. After 8 months or so in the outpatient clinic, we have the option of interning for a Chiropractor local or abroad where we will finish the rest of education while preparing for the last part of our national board exams. And then like a young bird we are pushed out of the nest where we will either fly… or not. Not the most delicate way to put it, but statistics don’t lie. 40% of chiropractors will fail or change professions within 10 years of graduating. Well on that heavy not, why not a lighter one? We had an absolutely beautiful snow here in Kansas City and the night ended very nicely with a celebration at my favorite restaurant in KC…. Oklahoma Joe’s! A Jumbo Chicken Z-Man and a Jumbo Brisket Z-man hit the spot every single time!!!!! If you’ve never tried Oklahoma Joe’s…… you are only going through the motions of life!!!! IT’S INCREDIBLE!!!!! I attended an extremity adjusting seminar this weekend presented by The Motional Palpation Institute. Dr. King and Winchester are two of the finest instructors I have met at any seminar and they went out of their way to figure out why my wife has pain that no one seems to be able to diagnose correctly.
